Fellowship
One of the most harmful aspects of being a Foster is that it isolates you. Even when entering foster care is necessary and life-saving; it is harmful to be disconnected from family, friends, and community. We knew this isolation was one of the many challenges we would need to combat if we were going to be able to organize alongside Fosters to create systemic change.
After much iteration with community we launched the Foster Advocates Fellowship in 2020 and we are currently in our third cohort! The Fellowship was a pivotal moment in our organization as it led to the formation of our Community Board and cemented our relationships with Fosters across the state.
I am proud of a lot of things our organization has done, but I am most proud that we have been able to authentically connect, invest in, and build with Fosters.
In Infinite Hope and Solidarity,
Hoang
